Located within the new build extension to Winchburgh next to the Union Canal, this project was focused on expanding a young families home to create a larger kitchen while also linking living spaces so that everyone was able to more spend time together.

Engaging the home with the garden more became a major factor too, linking views and opening up access to make it easier for entertaining and play to flow naturally from one to the other.

Utilising light brick and stone of the same hues will also ground the extension, giving it a sense of mass and presence so that it naturally projects from the original house, feeling less like an addition and more like a natural addition.

Internally the subtle use of roof lights above kitchen elements seeks to draw light deeper into the property, naturally framing out worktop and storage space.
